‘비움’을 실천하기 위한 다양한 프로그램을 마련합니다.

스페이스 ‘빔’은 우리들 삶의 공간에 작동하고 있는 일방적인 지배 권력을 ‘비움’으로써 자발적이고도 자율적인 문화를 활성화하고자 하는 의지를 담고 있습니다. 이를 구체화하기 위해 스페이스 빔 내부로부터 다양한 자기 성찰 및 생성적 접속을 위한 각종 프로그램을 마련하여 새로운 주체로 거듭나기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.

*구체적 활동 : 문화 예술 철학 관련 각종 스터디 모임 진행/지역문화담론지 계간「시각」 및 빔 커뮤니티 소식지 발간/빔 자체 정기워크숍 진행 및 각종 문화탐사 수시 마련

Space Beam introduces a variety of programs in order to carry the philosophy of "Bee-um" into practice.

Space "Beam" has a will to revitalize voluntary and autonomous culture by "Bee-um (a Korean noun which sounds similar to "Beam" and means making something empty)" of one-sided authority which operates in our lives. To materialize this, Space Beam tries to be reborn as a new subject by organizing a variety of programs for self-reflection and productive communication inside itself.

Specifically, Space Beam organizes various seminars on culture, arts, philosophy, and etc., and publishes a Beam Community newsletter and a quarterly magazine "Seegak(which means 'a point of view') covering local culture, and organizes workshops regularly and culture expeditions as occasion demands.

문화사회의 문화시민을 위한 교육프로그램을 진행합니다.

자본주의 이익 논리에 경도된 위험사회화의 가능성 등 온갖 폐해를 극복하면서 인간과 인간, 인간과 자연이 조화와 공존을 이루는 대안사회로의 ‘이행’을 담당할 주체는 사람입니다. 스페이스 빔은 시민들로 하여금 개개인의 문화적 역능을 균형 있게 발달시켜 문화사회의 주체로 등장하도록 하기 위해 대안 문화 예술 교육프로그램을 연구ㆍ개발ㆍ진행ㆍ보급하고 있습니다.

*구체적 활동 : 어린이 미술공작교실 진행/일반인 대상 문화 예술 관련 이론 & 실기 강좌 개최/작가-교사 연계 시각문화교육프로그램 모델 개발 및 현장 적용

Space Beam provides a variety of education programs for cultural citizens

Human beings should act as the subject in moving towards an alternative society where humans live together with other humans and nature in harmony, and in overcoming all different kinds of the evils including the risk of capitalistic society which is ruled only by profit theory. Space Beam researches, develops, arranges, and circulates alternative culture & arts education programs in order to help citizens to act as a subject in cultural society through developing individuals' cultural abilities on a balanced basis.

Specifically, Space Beam organizes art classes for children, provides citizens with arts & culture classes for academic and practical skills, and develops the models of visual culture education programs for artist-teacher partnership and applies them to the field.

다양한 형태의 대안예술활동지원사업을 벌이고 있습니다.

그간의 중앙 집중적인 문화 예술 시스템은 지역을 황폐화시키는 주요인으로 작용해왔습니다. 그러나 문화와 예술의 제도화, 도구화, 상업화를 극복하지 못하고 양적인 확대만이 이의 해결책이 되지는 못합니다. 스페이스 빔은 공공성과 지역성에 기반을 둔 다양한 형태의 대안예술활동을 다각적으로 지원함으로써 문화 예술 본래의 힘과 역동성을 되살리는 가운데 문화도시를 앞당기는 주체로서 역할을 다할 수 있도록 합니다.

*구체적 활동 : 작가활동지원프로그램/신진작가초대전/각종 실험성 있는 전시와 공연, 발표 공간 지원 

Space Beam organizes various support programs for alternative art activities.

Existing center-oriented culture & arts system served as a main factor to ruin local communities. However, the expansion of the quantity of art programs cannot be the answer to solve the systematization, utilization, and commercialization of culture & arts. Space Beam tries to play a role as a subject in pursuing the power and dynamics of culture & arts, and in moving towards cultural society by supporting alternative art activities based on publicity and locality in a multi-faceted way.

Specifically, Space Beam organizes support programs for artistic activities, opens invitation exhibitions for emerging artists, and provides its space for experimental exhibitions and performances.

도시공동체를 위한 구체적 사업과 활동을 전개합니다.

그 동안의 문화와 예술은 지역의 맥락과 유리된 채 또 다른 권력으로 작용하고 있는 부분이 있습니다. 스페이스 빔은 가속화되는 도시공동체 붕괴에 맞서 역사와 문화, 자연이 조화를 이루고 생활생태계가 보존되는 가운데 진정한 주민자치가 실현될 수 있도록 예술적 매개와 촉매, 중재 역할을 다하고자 합니다.

*구체적 활동 : 공공성과 지역성에 입각한 전시 및 각종 프로젝트 기획/지역밀착적ㆍ주민친화적 활동과 공간 운영_배다리 주말극장 & 동네美술공장 운영, 지역통화제 ‘LETS’ 실시, 배다리 시민모임 활동/그 외 지역 내ㆍ외를 연결하는 커뮤니티 활동

Space Beam arranges specific projects and activities for an urban community.

Until now, in some degree, culture & arts has been acting as one of many authorities bearing no relation to the context of locality. Space Beam tries to act as an artistic mediator, catalyst and arbitrator in order to realize desirable local autonomy while preserving life ecosystem in harmony with history, culture, and nature, and struggling with the accelerated disruption of urban communities.

Specifically, Space Beam plans a variety of exhibitions and projects based on publicity and locality, organizes programs for the local community and its inhabitants (Baedari Weekend Screening, Community Art Factory, Local Currency System "LETS", citizens' gathering for preserving Baedari), and arranges community activities connecting the inside and outside of the region.

‘문화도시 인천’을 위한 구체적 정책 제안 및 담론을 생산합니다.

문화도시란 도시를 살아가는 사람들의 삶이 문화적인 도시, 기본권으로서 시민의 문화적인 권리가 보장되는 도시, 도시의 운영 자체가 문화적인 도시를 말합니다. 이를 위해서는 문화와 예술에 대한 박제화된 관념에서 탈피하여 시민들 개개인의 삶의 조건과 환경, 의식, 역능에 기반한 접근이 필요합니다. 스페이스 빔은 내부로부터 자기 역량을 강화하면서 뜻을 같이 하는 제반 활동 주체와의 연계를 통해 이러한 사회를 만드는데 나름의 역할을 담당하고자 합니다.

*구체적 활동 : 지역문화예술정책과 현안에 대한 각종 토론회 개최/도시정책과 문화적 현안에 대한 다양한 형태의 개입 및 시민문화예술단체와의 공동 대응/그 외 온-오프라인을 넘나드는 다양한 의견 개진과 논의의 장 마련

Space Beam proposes specific politics and creates discourse for "Cultural City Incheon"

"Cultural city" is a city where people enjoy cultural lives and citizens are guaranteed cultural rights as basic rights and its management system itself is cultural. For establishing a cultural city, we need a new approach regarding life conditions, surrounding environment, awareness and abilities of each individual while escaping from the stereotype on culture & arts. Space Beam tries to contribute to building cultural society through collaboration with like-minded active subjects and the empowerment for itself.

Specifically, Space Beam hosts discussions on the policies of local culture & arts, intervenes on urban policies and cultural issues in various forms and takes actions in cooperation with other non-profit culture & arts organizations, and sets the stage for declarations and discussions both online and offline.
